Much Celebration

I have finally caught some time to myself this evening so I decided, now would be a great time to update about our holiday! For our first christmas as a family I knitted our christmas stockings and put our initials on them. They aren't the best looking ones, but they are made with love and that is all that matters.
This christmas we celebrated a few "firsts." Jadens' first Christmas. Our first as parents. Our first as a family in our new home. Our first holiday not traveling since we were young. That is huge. It was a great time to just focus on our new little family. My mother came down and celebrated with us. She sure enjoyed seeing how much Jaden can do now. It impresses me every day!
This is our new little family. I hope sooner rather than later there will be more itties comming. We love jaden so much and just don't feel we are complete yet. We will see what God has in store for us.

Here is Jaden and my Lovey, Aaron after opening gifts. Jaden is sitting in his new chair from Grandma. She even put his name on it. I will say this little chair is just too cute for words! This is Grandma and Jaden. It seems rare to me to capture my mother on film... I must say she really has aged gracefully. I only hope that holds true for me! After reflecting on our holiday season I feel blessed. I have a wonderful family. I have all that matters in life. I really hope this next year will be one of change for the better for us all. I really enjoy how this past year has ended, so who knows? My God Bless you all. I hope your holiday's were as wonderful as mine!

Love.

Whats Cooking Good Looking?

This past weekend I was thankfully blessed with one, a husband who would bring home groceries so I wouldn't have to leave the house; and two, ambition to make these labor instensive dishes.

My first dish I started with was Aaron's famous potatoe soup. This soup is probably like heaven in my mouth. It will turn into one of those dishes our children will ask about when they fly the nest and realize they want home cooked food!

I always attempt to make quite a full pot of this soup. . . it is so tasty it usually doesn't last more than two days. I really should invest in a stock pot. One day I will wise up and finally aquire one to make double batches of soup. I'm sure when Jaden gets older it will sure come in handy. Maybe goodwill will fulfill this need.

The next day I decided I was up for making a huge batch of my favorite home made tortilla's. These also never last long. Ever since Aaron and I discovered that making them at home not only was cheaper per tortilla; but also, tastes way better. I love the taste when they are fresh and warm.

After completing the most amazing tortilla's I made my favorite chicken enchilada's. This I gather will also be a family favorite to come. I hope this makes the hungry college grad list. One day my children will appreciate the simple cooking and how much love and time goes into preparing home made food.

Don't these just look super good!!! MMmmmm. This I've learned to make at least a pan and a half. One time I made two whole pan's of this. Wow. I will say I really love having leftovers of this. I think what I love more is how simple the recipie is.

Well Christmas is almost here which means that my birthday is approaching. I can't believe I will be 23 this year. It's crazy to think how fast time flies. Well I think think this should be all for the evening. I do have to work tomorrow.
God Bless!
Love.
